Gerald Dewes was invited on a nine-day trip to Lahore, Pakistan to conduct a meeting for Amazon resellers, along with other agendas such as to speak with the Lahore Chamber President, and meet textile manufacturers. The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry was established to represent the interests of the business community in Lahore, Pakistan.[1]

The meeting’s goal was to address Amazon resellers that want to join the USA market and help them by educating and giving them advice on distribution, warehousing, and logistic requirements. The aforementioned topics were crucial to being a proper business owner. He also hosted a Facebook Livestream to over 1300 participants at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce, as well as 40 members of the live audience. The trip was sponsored by Ecomist, a nationally recognized Amazon education program based in Pakistan.[1]

After the seminar and the Facebook live, Gerald Dewes was invited to speak with the Lahore Chamber president, Mian Nauman Kabir, where they discussed warehousing, Amazon requirements, fulfilment, returns handling, Amazon account setup for international sales. They gave comments regarding the global competition present in the current market, and the size and the growth trajectory of the market. The current trajectory of the market is looking pretty good, US commerce grows by 14.2% in 2021 and the one responsible for 40% of that was Amazon.[2]
Later on, Gerald Dewes was also invited to meet with the federal president of the Pakistan Chamber where they discussed the broader technological initiatives in Pakistan. One of the first technological initiatives by the country was the Digital Pakistan Policy that was launched back in 2018.[3] The initiative aimed to boost the IT industry in Pakistan by developing a digital ecosystem.

During the nine-day trip, Gerald Dewes was given a chance to meet with representatives from Karachi, and Lahore. They were representatives of some of the largest textile manufacturers in the country. They conferred and exchanged advice as to how to implement the digital strategy for the US sales. This meeting represented the whole textile industry and various consumer goods manufacturers.
